Watercolor Classes and Workshops
I have found so much joy and value in teaching others how to paint in watercolors. But do you know what the hardest thing about watercolors is? Mixing colors? Water control? Drawing? Leaving white? Nope, none of these things. The hardest thing about watercolors is the fear of making a “mistake” and not doing it perfectly. Knowing this, when I teach beginners to paint, we tackle these anxieties head on while at the same time learning to mix our colors and paint loose textured watercolor paintings. In almost every class I have at least one person tell me “I’m not really an artist” or “I can’t draw a straight line” but “I have always loved watercolors.” And then I am welcome them in our classroom where I love teaching students filled with trepidation because I believe that the desire and love for this art form will eventually clobber that angst. Through this process you can learn to create lovely, personal and meaningful art.

Watercolor Easter Eggs
Enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience learning the art of watercolor in an intimate class setting inside Pippin’s charming Greenhouse. I will guide students through basic watercolor mixing and brush techniques, practice exercises, and share tips for finding success with the medium. Attendees will leave with their own completed Spring themed artwork plus the skills to make more at home whenever inspiration strikes.
Enjoy a glass of Pippin sparkling wine and a shared charcuterie board as you create in the light-filled Greenhouse, overlooking the Blue Ridge.
